Monday was a pretty awesome day! The End Just kidding, well about "the end" part. Read about my awesome day with an industry legend
After making my way down to London I walked down Oxford Street with my destination being the prestigious Sassoon Academy. Even the walk was beautiful - with Christmas decorations adding some sparkle to the street. I have to admit that I did make a beeline for Liberty's after to take some photos of their fantastic window displays ...
... and their stunning floral arrangement.
After manoeuvring myself past the fancy cars parked outside Claridges I entered the Sassoon Academy. As someone in the industry I still get excited when I enter through the door and I don't think that will ever change.
It was then that I joined The F.A.M.E. Team for their day with legendary Bruce Masefield. This industry expert never ceases to amaze me and his expertise is incredible.
As UK Creative Director for Sassoon's, his career spans over 30 years and it is apparent just how much passion he has in how he inspires.
As Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year for 2011 he describes winning as an honour and the day really highlighted to me just how much he experience and expertise this guy has.
I love spending time with Amelia, Lucy, Luke and Peter and I am sad that I only have one day remaining with the Team. What a great way to spend their penultimate date though.
The morning started with education in the renowned Sassion cutting styles and techniques, while also provided a background to Bruce's background. I cannot express how exciting it was to hear such amazing stories and learn so much from him.
Bruce then introduced his model before demonstrating a full consultation to the Team which was an opportunity to really understand what impacts a haircut and the aspects to consider
Bruce answered questions from the Team throughout and we could all get up close to see exactly how he was creating such a beautiful look
What a fantastic morning! I felt very priveleged to be part of such an education and I found it very hard to leave as I wanted to stay for the afternoon.
With that in mind who has inspired you in your career?
