Yesterday I made my way to London for an education in Men's Hair and I was definitely wowed by what I learnt.
Before I headed over to Faringdon, I stopped for a pot of tea and a catch up with Jodie from the good Salon Guide. We discussed the year ahead, over a spot of Breakfast Tea in the beautiful Bill's on Baker Street. I always recommend meeting at somewhere like Bill's, as you never want to talk "business" in a busy cafe or while trying to scoff a sandwich so I can enjoy a warm drink in a quieter location - a top tip from me!
I then made a quick shoe change into some comfy trainers and I began the 3 mile journey to Faringdon. Since the start of this year I have really upped my fitness game, and as well as spending a lot of time with my exercise bike, I now try and walk when I can. It is amazing how much better you feel, and I got to see lots of amazing buildings along the way. I have to admit I also enjoy the minutes (or hours) to myself humming along to some awesome tunes while also having some time to myself to over think life. Something I don't think I am the only one guilty of. 12,071 steps later I felt accomplished and at least 5 stone light (well kind of)
Men's Hair is booming at the moment and I was very excited to be invited to go along to this Fellowship event and see some top experts in action. 7 mentors showcased their skills by educating the 23 students in small groups of 2, 3 and 4 - it was so hands on and something I have never seen before in terms of hair education.
The mentors were amazing and I was in awe of just how much knowledge they have and how they give up their time to give back to the industry at these events. It is always amazing to see so many different individuals from so many different backgrounds all coming together because of their love of the industry.
It was definitely a great start to the week and I feel very privileged to have been able to go along. Even better I get to do it all again but this time up North next month for the first ever Men's Hair Workshop outside of London. If you are in the industry and want to come along get in touch as you won't be disappointed!
