Monday was a pretty awesome day! I got to spend the morning with the new F.A.M.E. Team, and why did I love it?
After a very early start on a rather packed train I made my way to Oxford Circus to meet up with the new Team. Each year four individuals are selected to be part of this once in a lifetime opportunity within the hairdressing industry. After auditions, interviews and stage demonstrations the applicants are chosen and announced at the stunning Luncheon & Awards Ceremoney. Remember the post I wrote about my beautiful lunch at the rather fancy Dorchester Hotel in London? If you don't then click here for more details
As part of my role I work really closely with The F.A.M.E. Team and I get to follow their journey as they develop as a Team, and as individuals
This year you will be hearing about:
Jamie Benny, RUSH
Melissa Timperley, Sassoon
Rosie Bins, Ethos Hairdressing
Zoe Williams, Ken Picton
So what did I get up to on Monday? Well after standing on the tube platform and watching 5 packed tubes go by I was ready for a coffee, so I met up with the 'gang' at Pret and we discussed the year ahead.
The hairdressing industry offers so much educational workshops and demonstrations, but for the next 12 months these four will work closely with top industry experts and you can look forward to seeing them on stage at big trade shows
We then made our way to Mahogany, and their beautiful academy in London that was the location for an educational day with International Creative Director Colin Greaney, and UK Creative Director Antony Licata
During the morning Colin and Antony demonstrated stunning short hair looks, and Jamie, Melissa, Rosie and Zoe got up close to the techniques as the two industry experts evolved their haircuts. My background in hairdressing means that I have to bite my tongue and not ask questions myself so I sit their quietly (not an easy task for me) and take everything in.
I had a hugely busy day on Monday so I then strutted off to Goldwell for meetings, and a fantastic show at Wella by the D&J Ambrose Team ... blog post coming soon.
I will be continuing to follow the fabulous four as they continue to develop as part of F.A.M.E. Team and I am really looking forward to heading back down to London on Monday 1st February for their day with RUSH. For more details visit here
Has anyone else started a course, or joined a Team for this year?
