Presenting Just Got Easier

Monday started with a bang! (and 15 minutes de-icing my car) but all the same it was awesome and I discovered just what makes a great presentation with the hair industry legend Debbie

Marylebone is one of my favourite hotspots in London, and I often find myself wandering around little streets and people watching in lovely independent coffee shops, so when I was invited to go along to Billi Currie in Marylebone I was just a little bit excited!

So why was I invited to go along? ... because the fantastic ClubStar Art Team for 2016 from The Fellowship for British Hairdressing were spending the day with Debbie G developing their confidence in Presentation Skills.

I had met the Team very briefly at their auditions last year but I adore meeting young hairdressers, as the enthusiasm is so paramount in how they portray themselves with the Amy Russell, Jack Sanderson, Michael Rackett, Ollie Mehra, Ryan Charlie Humpage and Scarlett Constable being no different.

Debbie G is industry renowned for Presentation Skills Course and I was really excited to have the opportunity to watch these students learn, while also grabbing some awesome tips for myself!

I observed the Team conduct several mini presentations, and as the day continued Debbie G really took the time to develop aspects that could help them improve. By the end of the day their confidence was so much more apparent, and they really engaged us in what they were conveying.

So what after a fantastic day, what are my top tips for presenting?
  1. Make sure you have a beginning, middle and end
  2. Think about what you are wearing - no one wants to watch someone in a painful pair of heels moving around, or see up some lovely ladies skirt
  3. Engage your audience
  4. Don't try and be funny if you aren't
  5. If you make a mistake - then remember you are human - you can work around it
These are only a few of the tips that Debbie G gave the Team, and you can see how the Team put these to use at Salon London on Monday 29th February as they take to the stage for their first ever stage show as a Team

If you want to develop your own skills, then why not click here and take a look at this event coming up and I just might see you there!
