Bicester Village is just over 25 minutes away from where I call home - but I rarely head there as it is always so busy and I don't do crowds (even for bargains), but when I heard they had opened the Farmshop I just had to go
After the usual driving around the car park three times, and stalking shoppers to their cars, we finally managed to park and make our way to the shops (along with the crowds of visitors). It always amazes me how busy it gets, and also how much it is expanding. I remember when I was travelling South East Asia seeing signs at the airport advertising Bicester Village and knowing it was just around the corner and I rarely go. Anyway yesterday we did go along and it was so worth it!
I love anything to do with Soho House, although I have to admit that I am not a member. I just wish I had the funds and also the justification to be part of such an awesome establishment! I was so disappointed when I discovered Soho Farmhouse (also down the road) but realised the fact I didn't have a membership would mean I couldn't go along and enjoy their incredible food and the fantastic setting. Never one to give up I then discovered that they have now opened a Farmshop in Bicester and non-members welcome - so off we went.
We went along at lunch time so it was fairly busy, although we were lucky enough to grab a window seat with cushions galore. The waitress was lovely and really friendly, and I was so indecisive with my choices that she also had to be really patient. In the end we ordered:
Mum and I : 1/4 Chicken with a portion of chips to share
Husband: Burger and Chips
We were really impressed with the food and we waited under 10 minutes for it to arrive. Everything was really tasty and I was really impressed with the portion size.
We didn't stop there and went on to order some pudding. I went for the banana cake, which was lovely. although if I was to be greedy I would have loved some creme fraiche on the side to make it even more yummy. Mum ordered the apple pie, and I had food envy, the waitress bought over the pie and served it at the table with some ice-cream. We ended up sharing between us, while my husband enjoyed his diet coke (how can you not be a pudding person?)
With drinks and food it came to £62 for the three of us and there was a £8 service charge added to the bill, which I paid.
I would definitely recommend a visit, and I have already made plans to return. You can have a look at the menu here
Have you been? If so, what did you think?
